Michael J. Glade is Special Counsel with Glade Voogt Lopez Smith Felser PC. His practice focuses on construction, real estate, commercial and insurance litigation. Prior to beginning his career as an attorney, Mike obtained a degree in Mining Engineering from Colorado School of Mines, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Denver, and a law degree from Lewis and Clark College of Law. Following law school, Mike clerked for United States District Court Judges Robert Belloni and Gus Solomon in Portland, Oregon and as an attorney for Pepe & Hazard in Hartford, Connecticut, where he focused on Construction Law. Mike began his practice with Inman Flynn in 1990 and continued with that firm until its name change to Glade Voogt Lopez Smith.
In the 30 years of construction practice, Mike has represented owners, engineers, architects, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and lenders. In the area of real estate, he has represented buyers, sellers, developers, brokers and lenders. Mike’s practice includes extensive mediation, arbitration and litigation. He has litigated in State court, including the Colorado Court of Appeals and Supreme Court, and Federal courts, including the United States Bankruptcy Court.
Mike has extensive experience with filing mechanic’s liens, mechanic’s lien foreclosures, bond claims, and judicial and public trustee foreclosures. He protects contractors, subs, suppliers and engineers through his review and revision of construction contracts and purchase orders. With his construction law team, he litigates construction defect claims, trust fund act violations, and insurance claims. Mike specializes in assisting contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and engineers resolve construction payment disputes. Mike, and the construction law team at Glade Voogt Lopez Smith, focus on getting clients paid, quickly and efficiently, at a reasonable price.
